Pediatric Anesthesiologist

Facility in Harrisburg, PA seeking Pediatric Anesthesiology locums coverage.

Job Description

• Flexible schedule: Shifts will be assigned based on your availability and the department's needs. You must be able to provide a minimum of one week of coverage per month.
• Varied responsibilities: The role involves a mix of pediatric and adult cases. You will perform solo cases for both populations and provide medical direction to CRNAs. The patient mix is roughly 75% pediatric and 25% adult.
• Diverse pediatric cases: You'll handle cases including NICU babies (no hearts), orthopedic (no spine), ENT, general surgery, GI, and MRI sedations.
• Solo practice: You will be performing solo cases for both pediatric and adult patients.
• EMR system: The facility uses Epic for all charting.
• Privileging: The estimated time to secure full privileges is 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatrics, and adults.
• Manage a mix of cases, including general surgery, orthopedics, dental, GI, and ENT.
• Handle overnight pager call for pediatric patients only (5 PM - 7 AM).
• Cover weekend pager call (7 AM - 7 AM).

Requirements

• Education: MD or DO.
• Board status: Board-Certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Fellowship: Must be fellowship-trained in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Licensure: An active Pennsylvania State License is required. We will also consider candidates with an IMLC.
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and DEA are required.
