Job Description

• Full-Time Schedule: We are looking for 1-2 FTE providers, requiring a minimum of 3 shifts per week and a 6-month contract to start.
• Team-Based Anesthesia: You will work in a Medical Direction model, alongside an MD and potentially an SRNA, though you will not work solo. Assignments include providing hands-on care and rotating for break/lunch coverage.
• High-Volume Surgical Focus: The hospital averages 65 cases per day across all locations (up to 350 cases per week). UPMC Shadyside specializes in complex procedures, including Surgical Oncology with intraoperative chemoperfusion.
• Diverse Case Mix: Assignments cover the Main OR, On-Site ASC, GI Lab, EP Lab, and Radiology. Service lines include complex neuro, cardiac, robotics, major vascular, ortho, ENT, urology, and GI. There is no OB coverage.
• EMR System: The facility uses Cerner SA Anesthesia.
• Privileging: Full and temporary privileges are available, with an estimated credentialing time of 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on anesthesia care in the OR, ASC, GI Lab, EP Lab, and Radiology.
• Perform a full general scope of practice.
• Cover rotations for break and lunch coverage.

Requirements

• Credential: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
• Board Status: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
• Licensure: An active Pennsylvania State License is required to apply. The site will consider candidates needing to obtain a license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
• Questions for Presentation: Please confirm if the candidate is open to 8-hour or 10-hour shifts and if they are open to a minimum of 3 shifts per week.

• The target start date is February 2, 2026.
