Physician Assistant (PA) - General Surgery

Facility in Bel Air, MD seeking NP locums coverage. Rates: $135/h. We are looking for a skilled Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in General Surgery to join our surgical team. This role is surgery-focused with no pre- or post-op orders and no clinic responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working solo in the OR and participating in call coverage.

Job Description

• Assist in general surgical procedures
• Operate independently in the OR with full privileges
• Work a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7 AM - 5:30 PM
• Cover six call shifts per month (four weekday night calls and two 24-hour weekend shifts)
• Respond to surgical calls within 30 minutes
• Use EPIC EMR for documentation

Requirements

• State License: Maryland (Required)
• Certifications: BLS (Required)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in surgery; DaVinci robot experience preferred but not required
• DEA & CSR License: Not required
• Board Status: Not applicable

Additional Details

• Facility Size: 185 beds
• Support Staff: OR team available; no APP/Mid-Level coverage
• No trauma, medical, cardio, neuro, or burn cases strictly surgical
• Onboarding & Privileges: Full and temporary privileges available (30-day processing)
• Work Setup: Independent role with no rounding, consults, or outpatient clinic duties
