Adelphi is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide examinations and preventive health services at a facility in Burkeville, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be required to assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement care plans, and maintain medical records.

**Job Description**

- Works independently with minimal supervision to perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
- Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
- Orders and performs diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribes controlled substances and devices in accordance with current regulations.
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Provides education to patients, healthcare, and correctional staff.
- Performs care consistent with the scope of licensure and in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned by the facility.

**Requirements**

- Active Virginia license
- DEA certification
- BLS/ACLS
