This dynamic practice is known for its innovation and commitment to continuous improvements in primary care. The practice includes outpatient/inpatient services. Inpatient work uses a hospital rounding model shared equally among the family physicians 1:6. When in hospital rounding, the family physicians provide 1 week coverage of the inpatient unit and ED back-up for admissions. The ED is staffed 24/7 by Mayo Clinic Health System Emergency Medicine Physicians. The clinic and hospital at the Sparta Campus are located in one facility and utilize combined, state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostic radiology and lab services. The 25-bed, Joint Commission Accredited, critical access hospital offers same day surgery, telemetry unit with cardiac monitoring, cardiorespiratory service and other ancillary and support services.
