**Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions**

- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
  - Perform the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, ensuring individualized care, and coordinating care through effective partnerships
  - Provide relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity
  - Partner with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; just-in-time and planned patient teaching)
  - Practice using current clinical practice standards

- Teamwork and Collaboration
  - Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model
  - Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration practicing in a fiscally responsible manner promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members
  - Participate and support performance improvement inclusive of all stakeholders, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care

- Professional Development and Initiative
  - Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, population-specific education
  - Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students for all disciplines)

- Evidence-Based Practice and Research
  - Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing
  - Uphold all healthcare system/organizational policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements

- Resources and Support
  - Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum in direct patient care
  - Participate in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and other members of the healthcare team

**Requirements**

- Diploma from an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact required upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor or ACLS Provisional certification required

**Preferred Experience**

- Experience with direct patient care

- Ability to read, write, and speak English language
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner
- Possess excellent time management skills; practice nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with strong critical thinking skills
