**Job Description**

- Diagnose ailments and abnormalities of gums, teeth, and mouth and provide appropriate treatments and drug prescriptions.
- Locate and repair cavities, prepare and fit dental crowns, and perform appropriate procedures for molding, capping, and recapping teeth.
- Maintain dental histories and charts on patients.
- Recommend correction of complex dental treatments through counseling and referrals.
- Guide and counsel patients on preventive dental care.
- Provide direct dental treatment which includes care within all fields of dentistry, including urgent care, operative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics, prevention, and pediatrics.
- Conduct examinations, diagnoses, and treatment as required.
- Maintain accurate diagnoses, consent, and treatment records.
- Evaluate patients needing or applying for dental care and make clinically appropriate recommendations.
- May direct the work of staff employees in an office environment.

**Requirements**

- A Doctor of Dental Surgery or a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from an American Dental Association accredited college or university.
- Active license as a Dentist, as required by the State Board.
- Additional licensing, certifications, and credentials as required.
