**Job Description**

- Begin your assignment as soon as possible and provide vital support to our patients during a short staffing period (July 5th - July 14th, 2024).
- Contribute your expertise by responding to call needs and providing timely consultations and care plans for inpatients with a variety of medical conditions.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses and other healthcare professionals focused on providing high-quality patient care.
- Utilize the MEDHOST electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication.
- With a streamlined credentialing process taking approximately 5 days, you can begin your assignment quickly.

**Responsibilities**

- Respond to call needs and provide timely consultations and management plans for inpatients with a variety of medical conditions, encompassing both adult and pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Review patient charts, order diagnostic tests as needed, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Conduct bedside examinations and procedures as needed to ensure patient well-being.
- Document all patient interactions and treatment decisions thoroughly and efficiently within the MEDHOST electronic medical records system.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care within the inpatient department (time permitting).

**Requirements**

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a current and active license to practice medicine in Tennessee (only).
- Board-certified in either Family Medicine or Pediatrics by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) (required).
- Current BLS certification (required).
- A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to inpatients of all ages within a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to manage a fast-paced call environment while maintaining a high level of clinical judgment and decision-making.
