- Looking for a Board Certified Pathologist to serve as Senior Medical Director of our well-established, hospital-employed general pathology practice.
- Cytopathology fellowship is preferred but not required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Work hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with every third Saturday.
- CAP accredited with a call schedule of 1:3, approximately 17 weeks per year, and 24-hour call during the week on duty.
- Most calls are handled over the telephone, averaging 1-2 calls per night, usually for blood bank purposes or critical value-related issues.
- It is very rare to return to the hospital, but the candidate must be located within 20 minutes of the hospital for cases coming from the OR.

**Case Load**

- Approximately 9,500-10,000 surgical cases per year.
- Approximately 1,000-1,500 non-GYN cytology cases per year.
- Approximately 7,000 GYN cases per year.
- Cases are heavy in breast, lung, and GI; no autopsies, bone marrows, neuro, or pediatric cases; minimal hematopathology.

**Compensation**

- Base salary of $476,671 for the initial two-year contract (5% less for those not yet boarded; salary adjusted upon board certification).

**2-Year Contract Includes**

- Vacation: 29 PTO (paid time off) days. Additional 5 days PTO when producing at the 75th percentile wRVUs.
- CME/Books & Journals: 5 days PTO and up to $5,000.
- Deferred compensation: 457b plan allowing deferral up to IRS limit of $23,500 per year before taxes (no matching).
- Retirement/Savings Plan: 403b plan allowing deferral up to IRS limit of $23,500 per year before taxes under age 50 and $31,000 for over age 50. The organization matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
- Moving Expense: $10,000 paid to moving company.
- Malpractice Insurance Coverage: in a claims-made insurance policy, in an amount of $2,000,000 per claim/$6,000,000 aggregate.
- Health Insurance: physician pays a small premium deducted from paycheck.
- Liquidated Damages: 70-mile and 2-year non-compete clause or liquidated damages of one year’s salary.
- CERP (Pay for Call) Program: explained by VP of Finance.

- Medical School Loan Repayment: repay up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).
