Demonstrate competency on all general diagnostic imaging equipment in MRI. Ensure quality images for all completed procedures prior to releasing patient by reviewing films or sending images to the Pictorial Archive Communication System, depending on type of procedure. Imaging Quality Assurance should be less than 2% per month. 5. Carries out duties and assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program, as directed by the equipment vendors. Maintain competence Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and all Pictorial Archive Communication System (PACS). 6. Run a pending work report daily to ensure all exams have been properly charged. PACS and EMR errors are closely tracked and reported on Performance Improvement reports following the Quality Assurance policy. The individual error rate should be less than 2%. 7. Maintain adequate supplies. Responsible for stocking the room, as assigned, at the beginning of each shift and throughout the day to ensure that the room is always ready to perform the required procedures. **Job Description**

- Under the direction of the Site Manager and MRI Supervisor, demonstrates competency and actively functions in MRI. Operates MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of anatomy requested by the referring physician.
- Prepares procedure room and patient for all studies. Properly disinfects all equipment after each patient, following cleaning policies and protocols. Monitors patient flow for efficient daily operations.
- Educates patients regarding ordered procedures and answers any related questions. Obtains patient history and written consent for exams. Verifies patient information and checks for appropriate ICD-10 codes.
- Performs MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols. Positions patients and selects appropriate equipment necessary to accomplish procedures depending upon the age of the patient and physical capabilities.
- Monitors patients during procedures; notifies Radiologist of reactions or problems. Assists the radiologists when necessary. Every effort must be made to minimize patient discomfort.
- Demonstrates competency on all general diagnostic imaging equipment in MRI. Ensures quality images for all completed procedures prior to releasing patients by reviewing films or sending images to the Pictorial Archive Communication System.
- Carries out duties and assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program, as directed by the equipment vendors. Maintains competence in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and all Pictorial Archive Communication System (PACS).
- Runs a pending work report daily to ensure all exams have been properly charged. Tracks PACS and EMR errors closely and reports on Performance Improvement reports following the Quality Assurance policy.
- Maintains adequate supplies. Responsible for stocking the room at the beginning of each shift and throughout the day to ensure that the room is always ready to perform the required procedures.

**Requirements**

- Education: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of a Radiologic Technology program, or graduate of an accredited MRI program.
- Credential(s): Registered Technologist, Radiography; Basic Life Support; and/or RT (MR) Registered Technologist, Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
