- Duties: Hospital coverage for IR needs along with Stroke CTs and other procedures. Potential to cover outpatient building for contrasted CTs, MRIs, and breast biopsies.
- Required Procedures: Lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams with drains, and CT/US biopsies preferred.
- IR Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters; biopsies (thyroid, lung, other).
- EMR: Cerner
- Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) nurses and techs; large Radiology group in Sacramento for overflow and after-hours reads.
- Admissions per day: 12-15
- Patients/day: ED daily volume is 85-90 patients/day; average daily inpatient/obs census is 50 patients (includes ICU and OB).
- Types of cases: Surgical, medical, ICU, and OB.
- Expected workload: 70 studies/day + 5-8 procedures/day.
