- Assists the physician in placing catheters into the coronary arteries, and peripheral arteries and veins so that X-rays, angiograms, and other recordings can be taken to determine the vascular structure and function of the coronary and peripheral vessels.
- The Technologist will assist in preparing the patient for the procedure as well as assist the RN in the setup and preparation of rooms prior to beginning procedures to provide for safe, efficient delivery of care.
- The Technologist will assure that proper documentation/consent is present in the chart prior to the procedure start time.
- The Technologist will demonstrate the ability to obtain hemostasis safely after a procedure.
- The Technologist demonstrates the ability to utilize the x-ray equipment accurately and independently.
- The Technologist is responsible for radiation safety compliance during procedures.
