- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnosing mental health conditions to facility residents that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric disorders.
- Manage medication including prescribing, adjusting, and discontinuing medication as needed.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies, providing immediate interventions and safety protocols within the facility.
- Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational training activities related to mental health care.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including correctional staff, psychologists, social workers, and other medical professionals to develop and implement treatment plans and ensure staff are responsive to patients' needs.

**Requirements**

- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in IA.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in IA.
- A current DEA registration in IA.
- Have a valid CPR card.
- Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals and correctional staff.
- Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills and have strong computer skills.
