**Paramedic**

The Paramedic responds to both emergency and non-emergency calls, delivering skilled care in fast-moving and routine situations alike. The role includes completing daily and weekly operational tasks that keep ambulances and medi-vans clean, stocked, and ready for service. During Advanced Life Support calls, the Paramedic provides clear direction and strong clinical leadership to EMTs, ensuring coordinated, effective patient care.

**Job Description**

- Responds to emergency calls and provides immediate care to ill and injured individuals.
- Checks and monitors ambulance readiness before each shift.
- Cleans ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily.
- Clearly communicates crew and vehicle position at all times.
- Provides direction to EMTs during ambulance calls.
- Transports patients using a wheelchair van when needed.
- Manages patient care during transport to the hospital.
- Assesses blood glucose levels and provides treatment when appropriate.
