Kansas Malpractice: By law, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts requires certain health care providers (chiropractors, nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, physicians, physician assistants, and podiatrists) who obtain medical licenses to practice in the state of Kansas to be enrolled in the KS Health Care Stabilization Fund as part of the issuance of an active KS medical license. The KS Health Care Stabilization Fund (HCSF) requires that the primary layer of professional liability insurance coverage must be provided through a qualified admitted carrier. Details: Duration: Stretches of at least 7 days/month. Assignment: Physician working in clinic during the week seeing OB/GYN patients for new obstetrics, established obstetrics, new gynecology issues, and surgical consultations. Surgical blocks are twice per week for non-emergent surgeries. Shifts are 24-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 am and include all obstetrics as well as emergency gynecology and obstetric cases.

Facility Location: St. Catherine Hospital - Garden City

Setting: Clinic and Inpatient Call

One internal OBGYN with high volumes, one internal Certified Midwife with high volumes, and one internal FM OB.

Required Procedures/Job Duties: All OB/GYN procedures including more than 5 C-sections in the last 24 months and more than 5 hysterectomies in the last 24 months.

EMR: EPIC

Support Staff: Lab Tech, LPN/LVN, MA, X-ray Tech, RN. Physicians working with CRNAs and midwives.

Reason for Coverage: 2 vacancies

Dealbreakers Do Not Present:
- Adequate procedures for privileging; need to have procedure log at time of candidate presentation.
- Must have the following within the past 24 months for presentation: at least 5 hysterectomies and at least 5 C-sections.
- Will NOT consider candidates wishing to do clinic only!

EMR Required Training: Module learn lessons must be completed prior to virtual EMR training to attend the training. EMR Virtual training only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Provider will be required to complete Modules, EUPA test, and PPL at least one week prior to their start date. All candidates must complete the following EMR questionnaire and detail it in the notes section of the candidate's submission at time of presentation:
- What are the number of years of Epic experience they have?
- When was the last time (MM/YYYY) that they used Epic?
- What is the name of the last facility the provider used EPIC?
- Can you provide me with a photo large enough to add to a badge and not become pixelated? - Please attach photo in documents section.
- Can you disclose the provider's time zone for scheduling the virtual Epic training?
- We need the provider's best phone number to use for call shifts while working. Can you disclose?
- We need the provider's best email to use for programs while working onsite and the preapplication. Can you please send us their personal email address?

Travel Preferences:
- Preferred Lodging: Hotel must be within 15 minutes of the hospital.
- Air Travel: Acceptable.
- Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions (for example, a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations). Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.

Credentialing Information:
Timeframe: payor credentialing 60 days from state license issue.

Requirements: Applicants for initial appointment must be able to demonstrate current experience as evidenced by providing documentation reflective of the scope of privileges requested during the past 24 months including at least 50 deliveries with at least 5 C-sections and 25 gynecological surgical procedures with a minimum of 5 hysterectomies.
