**Job Description**

- Provide patient assessment and diagnosis, and formulate outcome-based psychiatric treatment plans
- Order, conduct, and interpret pertinent laboratory and diagnostic procedures with appropriate follow-through
- Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate psychotropic and related medications
- Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling
- Consult, refer, and collaborate with other disciplines involved in the delivery of total patient care
- Refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statutes and protocols regulating the profession
- Assess real or potential health hazards including analysis of health behavior related to lifestyle and culture
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records pertaining to treatment

**Requirements**

- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current license in good standing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Nebraska
- Current and unencumbered DEA
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental dysfunctions
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other health professionals as needed
- Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically underserved individuals in a public health setting
