- Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices
- Conduct ERCP procedures (both diagnostic and therapeutic)
- Perform PEG procedures and esophageal dilatation/manometry with interpretation
- Handle small bowel biopsies
- Perform lower GI endoscopy including flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy
- Conduct colonoscopies with biopsy and polyp excision capabilities
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is preferred but not required
- Liver biopsy skills are preferred but not required
- Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube skills preferred but not required
- Must have current North Carolina medical license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Board certification/eligibility required
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 60-90 days
- Coverage at both Harris Regional Hospital (Sylva) and Haywood Regional Medical Center (Clyde)
