- Skill in identifying the required safe level of insensibility or narcosis for each individual patient and surgical procedure.
- Ability to recognize return of consciousness and reflexes signaling safe emergence from anesthesia, transport of patient to recovery room, and informed report to qualified medical personnel who will assume care of the patient.
- Ability to recognize post-operative complications of anesthesia, initiate emergency treatment when indicated as directed by the attending anesthesiologist, and document appropriately.
- Ability to assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency situations by recognizing cardiac arrest and shock, initiating CPR, airway management techniques, and insertion of monitoring lines under the direction of an anesthesiologist.
- Ability to perform selected educational supervisory and administrative tasks, including supervision of student anesthetists when assigned, and assessment of orientation and progress.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nurse anesthesia.
- California RN and Nurse Anesthetist License.
- ACLS Certification.
- AANA Certification.

**Benefits**

- External candidates hired into the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist classification (Job Code 009144) are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus. Payment terms will be $10,000 paid to active employee after completion of six months of employment and the second payment of $10,000 will be paid to active employee upon completion of one year employment.
