**Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon**

We are actively seeking board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons to provide locums coverage for plastics, hand, and face surgery at a hospital with privileges at a 900+ bed, level 1 trauma center.

**Job Description**

- Coverage needed from 7 AM Friday through Monday
- As soon as credentialed, ongoing coverage required (two weekends a month)
- Inpatient only with strong OR and specialist support (trauma, neurosurgery, general surgery, etc.)
- No ICU duties and will not respond to codes
- EPIC EHR utilized

**Procedures Required**

- Complex facial trauma reconstruction, both soft tissue and skeletal (full face, upper, mid face, mandible, and coverage of cranial defects) for both adult and pediatric patients
- Complex upper extremity trauma reconstruction including soft tissue (tendon, peripheral nerve, and vascular below the elbow, and burns) and skeletal for both adult and pediatric patients
- Complex lower extremity soft tissue reconstruction for both adult and pediatric patients
- General plastic and reconstructive surgery, including breast and body procedures
- Complex upper extremity trauma reconstruction and skeletal (distal radius, wrist, and hand) for both adult and pediatric patients

**Job Description**

- Call shifts begin at 0700 and end at 0700 the following day; weekends are from 0700 on Friday through Monday at 0700.
- Outpatient (clinic & call) with an average of 20 patients/admissions per day in the office.
- Average of one admission per day in the hospital with an average inpatient census of 1 baby born per day.
- Call: 1 night per week; 1 weekend per month, shared with a pediatrician, NP, and FM MD.
- Required attendance at C-sections when requested by OB provider.
- No ICU/Critical Care duties and no ER backup coverage required.
- EMR: EPIC.
- Practice includes 6 exam rooms and onsite lab services with 1 MD, 1 FNP, and 4 Nurses/MAs.

**Requirements**

- Required Certification: BLS, PALS, and NRP.
- Procedures include onsite lab, in-house circumcisions, ear irrigation, minor suturing, Covid/sick clinic, POC testing for strep, flu, and RSV, routine well child exams and vaccines, and Covid vaccines for ages 5-18.
