**RN Clinical Charge Nurse**

Join our dynamic team at Kennestone Hospital as a full-time RN Clinical Charge Nurse working nights from 7 PM to 7 AM. This position is essential for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the unit to ensure the safe delivery of care.

**Job Description**

- Direct and oversee the daily activities of the unit on an assigned shift to assure successful safe delivery of care.
- Take modified patient care assignments while practicing in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the WellStar Shared Governance Model.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of practices that ensure excellence in patient care and efficient use of resources.
- Undertake leadership tasks such as staff schedules, unit patient flow, subject matter expertise for clinical concerns, physician rounding, committee involvement, survey readiness, and other tasks assigned by the manager.
- Serve as a resource to other areas, providing opportunities to learn about operational functionality and hospital awareness.
- Assist in the growth and development of team members in the unit to build department skill sets and inspire expertise.
- Build rapport between nurses and physicians to continue service to patients and serve as a role model to others.
- Uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.
- Support service excellence goals while upholding the voice of the patient and system policies and procedures.
- Utilize advanced clinical expertise to promote the delivery of safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care.
- Be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team ensuring individualized high-quality, safe patient care.

**Requirements**

- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing with an Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school preferred.
- Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment; national certification in area of specialty preferred (may require additional certification such as ACLS, PALS).
- One year of nursing experience required; two years preferred. Experience as relief charge with clinical expertise preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; optimize the use of technology to support clinical care; possess basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills; works well in a collaborative, team-focused, patient-centered way.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in written form with all levels of internal and external resources.
- Analytical skills necessary to solve technical, clinical, and managerial challenges.
