Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Maternal Child Health department in Putnam, CT! 

**Job Description**

- Assist with the nursing care of the patient in the operating room by performing routine and delegated duties according to policies and standards of the hospital and department.
- Scrub and set up instrumentation.
- Maintain aseptic technique at all times.
- Maintain awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damages or harm to personnel and patient.
- Assist with and anticipate the needs of the surgeon for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies.
- Maintain correct count of sponges and needles with the circulating nurse and report correctness and discrepancies.
- Observe and protect the patient before, during, and after the procedure.
- Cover call as policy dictates.
- Show flexibility in adjusting duty hours to meet needs of department.

**Requirements**

- High school diploma required.
- Completion of approved Operating Room Technician Program required.
- Certification as Operating Room Technician required.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

- Assist the surgeon as scrub technician according to established policies and standards.
- Assist the circulating RN as necessary.
- Assist in maintenance, care, and cleanliness of supplies and surgical suite.
- Cover call as assigned.
- Maintain and increase standards of performance and education.
