**Job Description**

- Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
- The LPN has the ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- The LPN counsels residents, family members, and/or resident advocates, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
- The LPN has knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Requirements**

- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possesses multi-state licensure privileges.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
