Fairmont, known as the City of Lakes, is located in the south central part of Minnesota, just two hours south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro and one hour south of Mankato, Minnesota. **Job Description**

- Clinic-based position with typical clinic hours, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Provide primary care for adults who have multiple medical conditions or undefined symptoms and complaints, expecting a diverse patient population.
- Manage an elderly patient panel, including many patients over 90 years of age, who may live independently or within a nursing home/assisted care facility.
- Expect patients to present with multiple comorbidities and complexities.
- Provide preventative medicine screening care such as mammograms, pap smears, routine colon cancer screening evaluations, cholesterol screening, blood pressure screening, etc.
- Care for patients with undefined symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, etc.
- Manage multiple medications for patients with chronic medical illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, emphysema, etc.
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations.
- Supervise medical students and APPs in training rotating through the outpatient clinic setting.
- After-hours call is covered by the expert RN triage phone line, with primary care providers providing backup (currently equates to six days of call out of the year for each internist).
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical record with excellent technical support.
