- Recognize errors, medical and technical problems and utilize expertise to perform minor and major troubleshooting and appropriate and timely problem resolution. Provide input for development of quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Participate in planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through attendance and participation in tech meetings, projects, and discussions with supervisor.

**Requirements**

- Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology or related field.
- Licensed in the State of WV as a Laboratory Technician within 90 days of employment if performing specimen grossing (for West Virginia Labs).
- One (1) year of laboratory experience in histopathology (preferred).
- Histotechnologist Certification (HTL) (preferred).
- Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) Certification (preferred).

The successful applicant will be working inside Ruby's Histology laboratory located within the Health Science Center. They will work in conjunction with other Histotechnologists and under the supervision of the Histology supervisor and the Anatomic Pathology manager. They will be required to rotate duties and responsibilities while working within the Histology laboratory. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to work flexible shifts starting as early as 3 AM and ending as late as 5 PM. The successful candidate must follow and adhere to standard operating procedures and policies within the department. The candidate should have a general knowledge of Histology practices and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, multitask, and pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
