**Job Description**

- Manage laboring patients, perform inductions, and provide care during the entire childbirth process.
- Evaluate and manage patients presenting in labor or with obstetric concerns.
- Provide expert consultations for obstetric and gynecological emergencies in the Emergency Room.
- Manage ongoing inpatient care for established OBGYN patients.
- Respond to trauma-related obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
- Ensure continuity of care by following up on established OBGYN patients during their inpatient stay.

**Requirements**

- Must hold a current Virginia medical license.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
- DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) are mandatory.
- Proven experience in managing a full spectrum of obstetric and gynecological cases, particularly in high-pressure, emergency, and labor and delivery settings.

- Expect to manage an average of 11 patients per day, providing personalized care and maintaining high patient satisfaction.
- Please note that there is no OB Hospitalist program for backup, so the physician must be comfortable managing all aspects of obstetric and gynecological care independently.
- The position offers 24-hour call coverage with on-site inpatient rounding and evening call coverage.

- Coverage is required on major holidays, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the 4th of July.
