- Implement treatment programs to assist pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional disabilities and delays by planning and administering speech therapy services in the home and community.
- Provide high-quality care and meet the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals appropriate to the child; creating and implementing speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
- Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child.
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with the physician order.
- Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
