**Job Description**

- Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours, no call

**Practice Details**

- Setting: Inpatient hospital-based, including Operating Room, CTICU, and Acute Care Floor
- Patient population: Adolescents, adults, geriatrics, including post-op CT surgery, heart transplant, and mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella, IABP)

**Support**

- Works collaboratively with CT surgeons, fellows, physicians, APPs, heart failure/transplant teams, and ICU staff
- High autonomy; first responder to CT surgery patient needs

**Clinical Responsibilities Include**

- Daily rounds with multidisciplinary teams
- Independent management of critically ill CT surgery patients
- Performing histories & physicals
- Ordering/interpreting diagnostic studies
- Perioperative planning & coordination
- Managing consults, admits, discharges, prescriptions, and referrals
- Removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, IABPs, and arterial sheaths
- Limited first assist time in OR (EVH-trained providers may participate)
- Providing patient/family education and arranging follow-up

**Requirements**

- Minimum 1 year of CT surgery experience required
