**Job Description**

- Types of cases include general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, bariatric, OB/GYN, and endoscopy. No neuro, hearts, pediatrics under 2 years old, or spine cases.
- Locums are typically assigned to the Main Operating Room (MOR), Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU), eye center, and electrophysiology lab.
- Most services are represented, with bread-and-butter cases being typical for locums.
- Anesthesia techniques include general anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC).
- Schedule consists of Monday to Friday for 4-5 days per week, with a mix of 8-12 hour days, totaling approximately 40 hours per week.
- Approximately 30 permanent and 7 per diem CRNAs are onsite, along with an equal number of permanent anesthesiologists and pool MDs.
- On any given weekday, about half of the anesthesia staff are physically present.
- The practice follows an anesthesia care team (ACT) model with supervision; there is no medical direction.
- CRNAs see their own patients, induce, emerge, and provide all care independently unless they desire assistance, which is always available but may not involve a supervising anesthesiologist.
- Typical assignments include 8-9 MORs, 5-6 ASU rooms, 2 eye center rooms, and 2 electrophysiology lab rooms.
