**RN Unit Coordinator - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit**

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a level one trauma center, is seeking a RN Unit Coordinator for our Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position offers full-time hours on the day shift.

**Job Description**

- Oversee a 14-bed unit that performs Kidney/Pancreas Transplants and complex vascular surgeries.
- Manage immediate surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant patients.
- Provide care for general surgical patients requiring ICU support.
- Handle management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation, CRRT, and hemo-dialysis.
- Care for vascular patients undergoing procedures such as lower extremity revascularization, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, and carotid endarterectomy.
- Serve adult medical and surgical patients requiring intensive nursing care, with an average length of stay of 2-3 days; complex patients may stay longer than 30 days.

**Position Summary**

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in the department. Under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, simplifies workflow, and contributes to staff development. Increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent customer service.

**Requirements**

- BSN required
- 18 months of relevant nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
