    Dental Assistant

    Job Description:

    • Assist Dentist or Dental Hygienist in the performance of dental procedures
    • Identify patient health care service requirements, aware of age-specific needs and protocols
    • Direct patient to operatory, obtain and record accurate routine patient vital signs
    • Prepare, process, and mount intra-oral and panoramic radiographs
    • Prepare patient for services rendered by provider
    • Assist provider with positioning, passing instruments, and performing suctioning
    • Assist provider in examination of patients and give instructions as directed by provider
    • Complete all necessary documentation in patients' EDR and EHR charts
    • Maintain updated treatment plans for patients
    • Take preliminary impressions and/or prepare models
    • Clean, stock, and prepare operatory stations between patients
    • Perform sterilization of instruments and equipment in a timely manner
    • Comply with infection control policies and protocols
    • Act as a liaison between providers and other caregivers
    • Process referrals and send prior authorization tasks
    • Assist with inventory control and laboratory service tracking
    • Ensure operation of dental equipment by reporting malfunctions and evaluating new equipment and techniques
    • Travel to any location as needed; for float positions, mileage may not be paid
    • Work extended hours and assigned weekends as required

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Fingerprint card required
    • X-Ray certification required
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
    • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides necessary skills and sensitivity
    • Driver's License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursement. For float positions, mileage may not be paid.
