• Shift Schedule: 8 or 10-hour shifts; starts at 7 AM
• Call Schedule:
  • 1 night/week; 7 PM - 7 AM
  • 1 weekend/month; 24-hour call
• Number of Deliveries: 100 per month
• Patient Demographics: Adults & Low Volume of Pediatrics
• Case Mix:
  • General Surgery, Endoscopy, Vascular, OB C-sections, Ortho, Bariatric and Plastic Surgery, Urology & UroGyn
  • No hearts, no neurosurgery, no thoracic
• Duties/Required Procedures:
  • MDs must start epidurals, CRNAs can continue
  • A-Lines, Central Lines, Nerve Blocks, General Spinal, MAC, LMA
  • Pain control in the PACU, Pre-op clearance, OB-epidurals
• Number of ORs: 7
• Trauma Level: III
• EMR: Epic
• Other Info: The epidural rate is low (hence the large midwifery program), section rate is 15%
• Required to Supervise CRNAs: Yes
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements

• Active NY License
• BC/BE (If BE: within 5 years post-residency)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS
