    Job Description:

    • Service Setting: Correctional Facility

    • Contract Term: 3 years
    • Shift/Schedule: (Sun - Sat) 6a to 6p or 6p to 6a (36/48hrs weekly)
    • Shift Type: Nights

    Requirements:

    • Florida License
    • LPN Certification
    • BLS
    • Correctional experience preferred

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the screening, evaluation, and care of inmates in various settings, including sick call, mental health care, chronic illness clinics, the infirmary, and confinement under the supervision of a physician and/or registered nurse.
    • Provide treatment and medication administration as per physician and mid-level practitioner orders.
    • Perform specific nursing tasks, including vital signs, venipuncture, and IV therapy (must have phlebotomy and IV certifications).
    • Provide appropriate nursing interventions in emergency situations.
    • Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of care provided in the inmate's health record.
    • Maintain health services records logs and assist with data entry within the scope of nursing-related items.
    • Maintain accountability of all controlled substances and prescription medications according to federal and state laws and organizational regulations.
    • Participate in the monitoring, requisition, and documentation of the use of medical supplies and equipment.
    • Provide supervision for non-licensed health care staff.
    • Participate in inmate educational health programs.
    • Coordinate with medical, dental, mental health, and ancillary personnel, as required, to ensure continuity of care.
    • Participate in continuing education and in-service training to maintain professional capabilities and proficiency.
    • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
