    Physical Therapist

    Adelphi is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide services to students in a public school district in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will offer in-person assessment, direct therapy, and consultative services for students with physical disabilities and delays, as determined by their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Services will be delivered in school-based settings and coordinated closely with educational teams.

    Job Description

    • Provide assessments and re-evaluations for students ages 3 to 22 to determine therapy needs.
    • Develop and present individualized goals and objectives during IEP meetings.
    • Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services in accordance with IEPs.
    • Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and collaborative team meetings.
    • Maintain accurate service documentation, including therapy logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing.
    • Assist school teams with strategies, equipment recommendations, and student-specific interventions.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines on service delivery, confidentiality, and student safety.
    • Provide services within school hours and calendar schedule in smoke-free environments.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
    • Active and valid license issued by the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
    • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with IEP implementation and documentation.
    • Strong collaborative and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to adapt therapy in various educational settings (e.g., classroom, gym, playground).

    Benefits

    • Competitive rate of $50-$55 per hour.
    • Contract position with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm (specific schedule TBC).
