    Job Description:

    • Provides 24-hour management of the Medical and Psychiatric Services of the facility.
    • Oversees and leads the medical staff, dietitians, and physician services coordinator, building a collaborative team with nursing and clinical departments.
    • Provides excellent medical care with knowledge of detoxification protocols, assessment for medication, withdrawal assessment and management, and Medication Assisted Therapy.
    • Understands ASAM criteria and Medical Needs Criteria and documents decision making accordingly.
    • Assists in the development and maintenance of written objectives, policies, a procedure manual, and a quality assurance program for medical services.
    • Plans and budgets for medical services in conjunction with the CMO and Executive Director.
    • Supports medical staff for success with medical department metrics including Expense Management, Compliance, and Outcomes/Readmission rates.
    • Proficiently uses the electronic health record with all required documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies, state regulation, and Joint Commission standards.
    • Reviews physical examination reports and medical screening results to ensure medical needs are considered in the treatment plan.
    • Develops and implements plans for Performance Improvement as needed.
    • Communicates on-call responsibilities and provides contact and backup numbers.

    Requirements:

    • COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: Must comply with state-specific mandates.
    • Graduated from an accredited medical school.
    • Experience in addiction medicine.
    • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position.
    • Familiarity with Joint Commission and other healthcare standards.
    • Licensed to practice medicine, e.g., Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in the appropriate state.
    • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine by ABPM, Addiction Psychiatry, or General Psychiatry.
    • Must have a DEA and DATA 2000 Waiver in the state working.
