    Cath Lab Technician

    Join our dynamic team as a Cath Lab Technician in the Cath Lab department. This position requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, invasive cardiovascular practices, EKG analysis, and emergency protocols. You will assist cardiovascular physicians in performing diagnostic cardiac and interventional peripheral procedures while demonstrating the ability to use a variety of complicated equipment, monitors, devices, and supplies.

    Job Description

    • Responsible for patient care in the cardiovascular lab, including pre-operative preparation such as obtaining informed consent, labs, procedural orders, history and physicals, vital signs, preparation of invasive procedural site, and EKGs.
    • Post-operative responsibilities include documentation of information, vital signs, teaching, insertion site assessment, and sheath removal.
    • Use vascular closure devices per department policy, apply vascular pressure, monitor patients, and alert physicians to changes while documenting and reporting to transferring nursing units.
    • Prepare sterile procedural setups and adhere to sterile technique in all procedures (patient, equipment, and supplies).
    • Responsible for proper image acquisition, archival, and image processing specific to procedure type.
    • Assist in minor troubleshooting of equipment repair in the lab.
    • Stock supplies, instruments, and equipment according to storage allocations and alert the manager of equipment/supply concerns or operational performance issues.

    Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular technology or radiography, or possess background knowledge and skill set in cardiovascular patient care.
    • Minimum of one to two years of experience.
    • Proficiency in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
