    Job Description:

    • Manage, supervise, and coordinate daily operations of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) under the direction of the Nurse Manager
    • Provide clinical and administrative leadership and expertise
    • Contribute to strategic planning and attainment of departmental and organizational goals

    Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Role model mission, vision, and values within defined areas of responsibility
    • Demonstrate and role model professional behavior with all staff interactions
    • Serve as a change agent and role model for change to assist staff in accepting and embracing necessary change
    • Conduct monthly unit conferences and complete annual performance appraisals on associates
    • Promote unit-based shared governance and professional development plans

    Quality and Patient Safety:

    • Identify, plan, and implement activities ensuring patient care is delivered according to professional standards
    • Monitor departmental performance in evidence-based practices and quality goals
    • Develop action plans for unmet goals and participate in regulatory readiness

    Customer Satisfaction:

    • Work collaboratively with patients, families, peers, and other departments to meet organizational goals for patient experience
    • Investigate and provide feedback for identified patient or departmental concerns
    • Round daily to assess and address patient and family needs

    Financial Responsibilities:

    • Ensure effective implementation of financial plans in partnership with the nurse manager
    • Demonstrate fiscal stewardship through efficient use of resources while maintaining patient care standards
    • Maintain budgetary performance and complete daily productivity tracking

    Professional Growth and Development:

    • Foster staff development through coaching, mentoring, and encouraging learning
    • Assure appropriate orientation, education, and professional development for personnel
    • Encourage staff membership on councils and committees and attend educational programs

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • 1 year of demonstrated clinical leadership experience
    • RN and CPR certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing
    • National Certification
