Respiratory Therapist
Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.
Job Description
- Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
- Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
- Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
- Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Minimum: Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
- Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, CRT, or TPP.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to the expiration of the TPP.
- CPR - American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Preferred
- Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT, or Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT).
- 1 year experience in a hospital setting.
