    Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

    The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in providing advanced nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders, substance abuse problems, and emotional or mental health issues. This position works closely with a multidisciplinary team to offer comprehensive mental health services. The team includes roles such as psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, community health workers or Promotoras, and nurses.

    Job Description

    • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine general physical conditions and mental health conditions.
    • Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic assessments to provide information on the patient's condition.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and monitoring their effectiveness.
    • Elicit and record information about the patient's medical and psychological history in the electronic health record.

    Requirements

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum of two years of clinical experience required in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred, with equivalent experience considered.
    • Experience working with FQHC or FQHC look-alike settings preferred or equivalent experience working with underserved or marginalized populations welcome.
    • Proficient in electronic medical records and telehealth platforms; EPIC EMR preferred.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to patient-centered care and cultural competence.
