Physical Therapist

Under the direction of the Team or Clinic Manager, the Physical Therapist administers physical therapy in accordance with state law regarding the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Physical Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department - pediatric through geriatric. The Physical Therapist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the Outpatient and Physical Therapy policies and procedures.

Type of supervision exercised: functional supervision of PTA's and support personnel during clinical activities. Jobs reporting to this position: PTA's and Aides.

Job Description

• Administer physical therapy in accordance with state law
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for patient care across all age groups
• Assess patient data and identify age-specific needs
• Provide individualized care as per outpatient and physical therapy policies
• Exercise functional supervision over PTA's and support personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
• Master's degree in Physical Therapy preferred
• Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy preferred
• Licensed (temporary or permanent) as a Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania
• CPR certification required and must be maintained
• Valid PA driver's license required for travel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Work Experience

• New graduates acceptable
• One (1) to two (2) years physical therapy experience preferred

Special Employment Requirements

• Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline) and Cogent
