    Occupational Therapist

    The Occupational Therapist is accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining a program to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped individuals.

    Job Description

    • Plans rehabilitation programs that involve manual arts, practice in prevocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational, and recreational activities to assist patients in functioning or adjusting to handicaps.
    • Selects activity programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient and coordinates the program with other therapeutic activities.
    • Selects constructive activities for patients to upgrade their independence, prepare them for return to work, assist in restoration of functions, and aid in adjustment to disability.
    • Teaches patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities and evaluates patients' progress.
    • Suggests special equipment for patients to use in adaptation to their work-living environment.
    • Lays out materials for patients' use and cleans and repairs tools at the end of the session.
    • Conducts and participates in training programs.
    • May make and fit adaptive devices such as splints, braces, etc.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited college and licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
    • Certified as an Occupational Therapist as required by the state.
    • Occupational Therapy License (Required).

    Work Location

    In person in Paintsville, KY 41240. Relocation before starting work is required.
