General Surgeon Nocturnist
Arc Health is actively seeking a skilled General Surgeon Nocturnist to join us in providing care at the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU) in Shiprock, NM. This opportunity allows you to make a significant impact within the Navajo Nation, serving a vibrant community while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Job Description
- Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday every week, 4:00 pm to 8:00 am, and 1-2 weekends per month; will work until Monday 8 am. Rotating call schedule.
- Duration: 3-12 months of coverage, potential to extend.
- EMR: RPMS.
- Provide care to adults and children (over 18 months) routine and emergencies.
- Cross over with Inpatient General Surgery service and admit new patients into the hospital.
- Provide call with consults/admissions from the ED, outpatient clinics, and inpatient services as well as local referral services.
- Perform emergency general surgical cases and upper/lower endoscopies as needed.
Requirements
- Board eligible or certified by The American Board of Surgery.
- Completed residency training.
- Valid state license and DEA.
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Ability to meet health requirements and pass background checks.
- Clean NPDP report.

Facility Overview
The Shiprock Service Unit is the largest geographical service unit within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), serving a diverse population across New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. The facility encompasses the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), a 60-bed hospital, and two health centers: Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center. The facility provides comprehensive care, including primary care, pediatrics, labor and delivery, intensive care, family practice, urgent care, mental health, dental, and more.
