CT Scan Technologist
Join our team as a CT Scan Technologist in North Little Rock, AR. This position offers a full-time opportunity with a bonus based on experience.
Job Description
- Responsible for patient care including performing CT scans according to ACR and State regulations and protocols and communicating with providers, nurses, and staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilize CT scanner and X-ray equipment to provide quality images for diagnosis while following all practices of radiation safety.
- Operate CT equipment including the power injector by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintain room and CT scanner according to departmental and licensing standards.
- Complete a comprehensive assessment on patients including patient screening and contraindications through written and oral communication. This includes, but is not limited to renal function, pregnancy status, contrast allergies, and previous conditions that would limit or prevent the study.
- Conduct daily and weekly quality assurance phantom studies for compliance with ACR.
- Provide all documents and imaging for renewal of ACR accreditation every 3 years. Actively assist in meeting all department licensing standards with ADH.
- Perform venipuncture and insertion of peripheral IVs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA.
- Coordinate a busy patient flow while accommodating add-on patient studies throughout the day.
- Practice teamwork, service, and respect for coworkers and patients.
- Order supplies and manage resources properly.
- Assist in other departments as needed, such as x-ray and/or fluoroscopy studies.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT registered in Radiology.
- CT registry preferred.
- BLS required.
