    We are seeking a Counselor & Clinical Therapist at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, Michigan, to work in our outpatient clinics in Ironwood, MI, and Hurley, WI. This person provides outpatient counseling services to patients, groups, or families regarding psychological, emotional, or behavioral problems. The provider will evaluate the patient, group, or families and will develop and implement a therapeutic treatment plan.

    There is potential for some telehealth in this position.

    Job Description

    • Provide outpatient counseling services to patients, groups, or families regarding psychological, emotional, or behavioral problems.
    • Evaluate the patient, group, or families and develop and implement a therapeutic treatment plan.
    • Provide referrals and community contacts.
    • Manage caseload documentation.
    • Function as a team member of the system Behavioral Health program.

    Requirements

    • Knowledge of counseling techniques and protocols normally acquired through completion of a master's degree in one of the following areas: industrial/organizational psychology, social work, psychology, community counseling, educational counseling, or professional counseling.
    • Mental health and/or substance use experience preferred.
    • Eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan in social work, substance use, or professional counseling.
    • Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Michigan Professional Counselor (LPC) license, or Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred.
    • Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training (SAC-IT), Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) preferred.

    Community Overview

    Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic, and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4-bed ICU, 3-bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
