Hematology/Oncology Physician

Locum Hematology/Oncology Opportunity

Seeking a Locum Hematologist Oncologist to provide outpatient-focused coverage within a collaborative, well-supported cancer care program.

Job Description

• Schedule typically Monday through Thursday with approximately 16 shifts per month
• 8-hour clinic shifts with patient contact hours during standard daytime clinic operations
• Outpatient-focused role with limited inpatient responsibilities; hospitalists manage admissions with occasional consult phone support
• Potential phone-only call coverage averaging one week and one weekend per month
• Provide consultations, follow-up care, and oversee administration of antineoplastic therapies
• Perform services including bone marrow biopsies, phlebotomies, IV IgG therapy, and iron infusions
• Average clinic volume of approximately patients per day
• Adult patient population
• Teaching opportunities available

Practice Environment

• Two advanced practice providers with no supervision required
• Strong nursing and ancillary staff support including lab, dietician, social worker, triage, and referral teams
• Access to onsite medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
• Fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC participation
• Full-time availability Monday through Thursday
• Ability to perform bone marrow aspiration/biopsy procedures
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within the required timeframe
