General Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies, among others.
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
- Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
- Provide patient education about post-operative care and follow-up requirements.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Skills:
- Expertise in performing a wide variety of general surgeries with minimal supervision.
- Ability to assess complex medical situations and make sound decisions quickly.
- Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.

- Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in New Mexico.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
