General Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, treat and manage urological disorders such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones and prostate issues.
- Perform various surgical interventions including cystoscopies, nephrectomies and prostatectomies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide consultation services to other members of the medical team regarding critically ill patients.
- Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in performing a range of both surgical and non-surgical urological procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex urological conditions.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training program in urology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Fellowship training in a urology specialty may be required.
Certifications:
- Board certification in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Tennessee.
Experience:
