    Cardiac Sonographer

    Join our team at Kent Campus Hospital as a Cardiac Sonographer. This full-time position offers a variable shift and the opportunity to perform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with a high level of skill, ensuring timely and dependable care consistent with current standards.

    Job Description

    • Accurately perform all echocardiogram studies ordered by physicians, including but not limited to: Transthoracic 2-D, M-Mode, Color-flow Doppler, Transesophageal, Exercise stress, and pharmacological echocardiography.
    • Perform IV contrast administration and agitated saline bubble studies.
    • Accurately perform other cardiac diagnostic studies as assigned, including but not limited to: EKG, Holter prep, monitoring and analysis, and cardiac stress tests.
    • Correctly utilize mechanical devices to provide the best diagnostic information to cardiology physicians, including but not limited to: echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, Holter monitors, and computer analysis.
    • Accurately assess hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and correct charging of all studies.
    • Implement appropriate infection control practices and demonstrate a working knowledge of aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection.
    • Interact with students from contracted colleges and universities, providing preceptorship and clinical guidance as per contracted agreements.
    • Demonstrate the ability to perform cardiac diagnostic tests following age-specific guidelines and procedures, specifically with neonatal and pediatric patients.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

    Requirements

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED
    • Credential(s): Basic Life Support; Registered Cardiac Sonographer
    • Experience: Successful completion of certification program and/or two years hands-on experience with echocardiography.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Education: Certificate Program in Cardiovascular Sonography
    • Experience: Extensive experience in echocardiography studies in a hospital setting; extensive experience in both pediatric and neonatal echocardiography.
