Nurse Practitioner

Kent Campus Hospital is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This position involves examining and treating patients independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, ensuring proper care for illnesses and injuries, as well as disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Job Description

• Accurately performs history and physicals for patients, utilizing sound clinical judgment based on best practices when implementing therapeutic regimens.
• Documents all care provided, including pharmacological dispensing, in an accurate manner.
• Completes patient discharge planning and education; writes appropriate orders and prescriptions. Performs patient education and counseling to promote wellness.
• Evaluates patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes and the effectiveness of interventions in relation to outcomes. Documents patient's response to interventions.
• Maintains accurate, legible, and confidential medical records in accordance with federal and state laws.
• Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Requirements

• Education: Master's Degree; Certificate Program Nurse Practitioner; must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program/university.
• Credential: Delaware State Certification/License; Advanced Practice RN - Controlled Substances Registration; Basic Life Support.
• Experience: Two (2) years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a physician practice setting and/or related nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience: Three (3) years Nurse Practitioner experience in a specific area of practice (i.e., Oncology office).
