Registered Nurse

Join our dynamic team at Kent Campus Hospital as a Registered Nurse. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, with a commitment to quality and safety.

Job Description

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on the best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
• Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence which include practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
• Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
• Participate in decision-making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Requirements

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program/university with a Nursing Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's in Nursing.
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS). ACLS/PALS may be required per manager's direction and timeframe - must commit to seeking specialty certification within the timeframe indicated during the interview.
• Experience: None required - new grads or nursing students in their last semester are welcome to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Credential(s): Certification(s) related to the position.
• Experience: Experience in relevant specialty.
