    Registered Nurse

    Join our team at Kent Campus Hospital as a Registered Nurse, providing professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety.

    Job Description

    • Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
    • Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
    • Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
    • Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
    • Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
    • Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
    • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
    • Consult with physicians to decide on the best treatment decisions when appropriate.
    • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
    • Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
    • Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
    • Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
    • Demonstrate standards of excellence which include practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
    • Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
    • Participate in decision-making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
    • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

    Requirements

    • Education: Must have completed an accredited RN program and obtained a Nursing Diploma, Associates or above.
    • Credential: Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS/PALS may be required per manager's direction and timeframe. Commit to seeking specialty certification within the timeframe indicated during the interview.
    • Experience: Experience in relevant specialty preferred but not required.

    Preferred Education and Credential

    • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Credential: Additional certification/training related to the position, if applicable.
