Substance Abuse Counselor
Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed! The substance abuse counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, the counselor will evaluate patients' progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists for patients' therapy and treatment for the best overall outcome.
Job Description
- Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients receiving methadone maintenance and detoxification treatment.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
- Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with the treatment team accordingly.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Must have current CAC-AD, CPC-AD, LCPC, and LADAC as a Counselor at The Professional Board of Counselors & Therapist State of Maryland.
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background.
Salary Range
Salary ranges from $24.00 to $29.90 an hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, specialty, and training.
